Juvenile Injured in Margate City Crash Airlifted to Pediatric Trauma Center

MARGATE CITY, NJ - On May 14th at approximately 6:05 p.m., the Margate City Police Department and Margate City Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Jerome and Fulton Avenue involving a juvenile operating an electric-powered vehicle.
Firefighters/EMTs provided immediate medical care at the scene. Due to the nature of the juvenile’s potential injuries, it was determined that transport to a pediatric trauma center was necessary. A medevac helicopter from SouthStar Air Medical Helicopter was requested, and a landing zone was established at the Margate City Recreation Field Complex.
The juvenile was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Officials later confirmed that the juvenile was discharged from the hospital late that evening and was recovering at home.
Officials expressed gratitude to all agencies involved in the response, including the Margate City Police Department, AtlantiCare EMS, the crew from SouthStar Air Medical Helicopter, Longport Volunteer Fire Department, Margate City firefighters, and the Margate City dispatchers.
