Juvenile Injured in Margate City Crash Airlifted to Pediatric Trauma Center

Margate City, NJ - On 14th May 2026, at approximately 6:05 p.m., the Margate City Police Department and Margate City Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Jerome and Fulton Avenue involving a juvenile operating an electric-powered vehicle.


Firefighter/EMTs provided immediate medical care at the scene. Due to the nature of the juvenile’s potential injuries, it was determined that transport to a pediatric trauma center was necessary. A medevac helicopter from SouthStar Air Medical Helicopter was requested, and a landing zone was established at the Margate City Recreation Field Complex.


The juvenile was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Officials later confirmed that the juvenile was discharged from the hospital late that evening and is now recovering at home with family by their side.


Officials expressed gratitude to all agencies involved in the response, including the Margate City Police Department, AtlantiCare EMS, the crew from SouthStar Air Medical Helicopter, Longport Volunteer Fire Department, Margate City firefighters, and the Margate City dispatcher for coordinating the emergency response with professionalism and composure.


The department also thanked the community for its support and well wishes for the family during the incident.
