On May 1st, Waltham Fire dept put on its annual Prom crash. at the Senior High School. This is the 41st demonstration. All seniors witness a mock crash in which two cars crash because of a drunk driver. One prom female member is ‘killed’ in the crash. Engine 7, Rescue 1 and Medic responded. One car required extrication for the driver of one vehicle. The drunk driver is given a sobriety test and arrested. Medics and firefighters administered first aid to several prom goers

The deceased is attended to and sent to the funeral home. Surprisingly several hundred seniors watched in ‘dead’ silence and applauded at the end. The program has been a great success.
