Second Alarm Structure Fire Contained on Turnpike Road

Campton, NH - Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue and multiple mutual aid partners responded to a reported structure fire on Turnpike Road involving heavy smoke and fire showing from a single-family residence.


Due to remote access and weather conditions, a second alarm was transmitted, bringing additional regional resources for suppression and station coverage.


Crews quickly established fire attack operations, stretching handlines to the first floor and basement, successfully bringing the fire under control after arrival.


All occupants were safely evacuated prior to fire department operations. One dog was rescued and received treatment, while other animals unfortunately did not survive the fire. One firefighter was evaluated and cleared on scene.


Crews remained for overhaul and investigation. The cause is under investigation and not considered suspicious.
