Wind-Driven Brush Fire Contained Through Large-Scale Mutual Aid Response

Hollis, NH - The Hollis Fire Department responded to a reported brush fire in the area of Proctor Hill Road. Upon arrival, crews encountered a rapidly spreading fire fueled by strong winds and dry conditions, requiring an immediate escalation of resources.


A second alarm was transmitted, bringing a coordinated mutual aid response from Milford, Brookline, Pepperell, Dunstable, Townsend, Groton, Mont Vernon, and Nashua fire units.


Responding companies worked in unified operations to contain and control the fast-moving fire.


Through strong interagency coordination and sustained firefighting efforts, the fire was brought under control after an extended operation. During the incident, Nashua provided station coverage before being reassigned to another second alarm brush fire in Amherst, with Hudson units subsequently covering stations to ensure continued service protection.


The Hollis Fire Department extends sincere appreciation to all mutual aid partners for their rapid response, teamwork, and professionalism, which were instrumental in safely bringing the incident under control.
