Hopkinton, NH April 21-2025. A large barn and numerous cars were destroyed in a 3 Alarm fire on Monday afternoon. The fire also ignited a large field and brush on fire in the rear of the property. 911 Calls came in for a shed on fire at around 1500 hours. Hopkinton fire department along with automatic mutual aid was dispatched to 100 Chase Pond Road in the rural section of the town. Hopkinton Fire Chief Jeff Yale arrived to find a large two and half story barn type structure fully involved with embers starting numerous brush fires. A second and third alarm was quickly called, bringing in numerous tankers to set up a rural water hitch and numerous brush trucks to battle the fires. The barn collapsed soon after a water supply was established, as firefighters stretched numerous lines to protect the farmhouse across the driveway from the burning barn. Firefighters also spent hours containing the brush fires and extinguishing hot spots on the collapsed barn. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
