While Engine 3 was extinguishing a brush fire on 5/10/2022, Squad A & Engine 2 responded to a kayaker in distress in the Thames River.
Battalion 1 established command in the Thamesview Apartments parking lot while Squad A deployed Marine 1. Engine 2 positioned at the end of Shipping Street and spotted the victim swimming back to shore.
Marine 1 was able to retrieve the kayak and fishing equipment for the owner. Laurel Hill deployed their UTV and was going to head down the railroad tracks but the patient walked up through the woods.
