Lowell, MA - Lowell firefighters were called to a fire on Foster St., May 14th. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the large two-and-a-half story wood-frame. Crews made an aggressive interior attack and found fire in the floors and running the walls to the third floor and attic. The incident commander struck a second-alarm, bringing in more companies. Fire took over the third floor and attic and firefighters were pulled from the building for a defensive attack and command struck a third-alarm. After the heavy fire was knocked down with master streams, deck guns and big handlines, crews made entry again to chase the remaining pockets of fire. Crews remained on scene for a while overhauling.
