Hanover Crews Work Fire in Large Brush Pile

Hanover, MA - Around 5:00 P.M. on the afternoon of Thursday, May 14th, the Hanover Fire Department responded to the area of Winter Street and Ames Way for a reported fire.
Companies arrived to find a 150' x 30' x 15' pile of brush and compost on fire at the rear of 299 Ames Way. A box was struck, bringing in off-duty firefighters to assist.
Companies utilized large lines, deck guns and a ladder pipe to knock down the fire and keep it contained to the pile of brush and compost. Hanover companies C-1, C-2, E-7, E-4, E-3, T-1, S-1 & A-3 responded and worked at the fire. A Norwell engine was brought into Hanover's Headquarters for station coverage.
Crews worked around two hours to have the fire under control.
