This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

MILO, ME — April 26th — As part of a mutual aid assignment, Charleston Fire Department personnel responded to Milo after a structure fire on Elm Street spread onto a neighboring wilderness area. While Tanker 632 helped with water supply operations for the structure fire, Station 63 workers worked on the brush fire side of the incident. During the prolonged response, more personnel stayed in Charleston with Engine 631 to continue providing fire protection coverage for the surrounding neighborhood.

To suppress the flames and safeguard surrounding properties, firefighters from multiple nearby agencies collaborated. According to fire officials, managing structure fires and wildland incidents in Maine's rural villages still requires coordinated training and regional mutual help.
