The Augusta Fire Rescue praised many organizations, companies, and employees on April 28th for their support during a Church Hill Road fire.

Chelsea Fire Department, Windsor Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Vassalboro Fire Department, Manchester Fire Department, Belgrade Fire and Rescue Department, Sidney Fire Department, and Winslow Fire Department were among the departments offering tanker support.

According to officials, the Gardiner and Winthrop fire departments helped with personnel relief, while the Hallowell and Manchester fire departments covered the city. A pumper for water operations was provided by the Togus Fire Department.

Additional support came from the Maine Forest Service, the Maine State Fire Marshal's Office, Augusta Public Works, Quirion Construction, Central Maine Power, and the Augusta Police Department.

Businesses including Twins Market, Angelz Behavioral Services, and Lisa’s also provided food and beverages for responders. Fire Chief Dave Groder additionally thanked on-duty and off-duty Augusta firefighters who continued operations into the following day.
