House fire goes to 2 Alarms in City of Duquesne

May 13, 2020 – City of Duquense, Allegheny County – At 7:10pm, fire units were dispatched to a reported house on fire located along the 300 block of Harden Avenue in the City of Duquense. Duquesne Chief called Enroute and notified dispatch he can see a header from his location. Duquesne Chief then arrived on-scene reporting a working fire in the rear of the home with exposure problems. Fire units arrived quickly and began attacking the fire. A second alarm was requested due to the exposure problems. Crews were able to quickly knock the bulk of the fire down in the rear of the home but fire had already traveled through the walls and into the roof area. At one point, crews were forced to evacuate due to loosing water for a short time but were able to re-enter the home and continue to fight the fire. The fire was finally brought under control at 8:27pm. It appears no one was home when the fire started and no injures were reported. Several other homes did receive minor damage from heat and smoke. The fire is still under investigation.
