BANGOR, ME — April 19th — In order to contain the fire and safeguard surrounding structures, the Bangor Maine Fire Department dispatched several teams to the scene of a reported building fire. As soon as they arrived, firefighters started suppression efforts after discovering smoke and flames within the building. During the response, crews also searched the structure, looked for fire extensions, and tried to ventilate it. Extra support units helped with overhaul and scene operations.

Building fires continue to pose problems with visibility, structural stability, and coordinated fireground operations, according to officials. To enhance firefighter safety and emergency coordination across the city, the Bangor Maine Fire Department, situated at 289 Main Street, periodically conducts training sessions on residential and commercial fire response techniques.
