At 1731 hours, on May 10, 2025, the Audubon Task Force was dispatched to 202 Walnut Street for the report of a dwelling fire. One of the first to arrive, Bellmawr Battalion 3, Tom Fowler, reported fire and smoke showing from a 3 story twin frame dwelling that was rapidly spreading. Audubon Squad Co. 1 arrived and stretched a 2 1/2” attack line to knock down the heavy volume of fire. The fire quickly spread to all three floors of the fire building. Units stretched multiple hand lines to the interior including the attached B exposure to extinguish any fire that communicated over. Bellmawr Quint 3 positioned on the B side and raised their aerial to the rear of the building. Westmont Ladder Co. 15 arrived soon after and popped the top with roof cuts giving the companies operating on the interior a bit of relief from the rather heavy smoke condition throughout. One of the initial attack lines was damaged in the fire fight and shut down, but an additional line was stretched in its place. The family pets, a dog and a cat, were rescued from the fire. Several surrounding towns assisted Audubon with this fire. No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation.
