Mastic Beach, N.Y.- On Sunday April 21 st, 2024 at about 12:25 AM the Mastic Beach Fd was called to an
address on Cranberry Dr for a report of a house fire. Chief of Department Luis Grego {5-13-30} and
Assistant Chiefs Roy Arcuri {5-13-31} & Jason Sharp {5-13-32} responded to the scene. Fire-com advise
the call came in as a report of smoke and flame coming from the rear of the house.
On arrival chiefs found a confirmed fire with flames coming from the roof. It was believed there kay
have been an occupant in the home. Engine 5-13-3 arrived on scene first due and crews streatched a
line quickly. Tanker 5-13-2 was on scene quickly after and that crew also stretched lines and assisted in
making an aggressive attack. Due to the quick actions the fire was able to be confined to the rear
portion of the home.
Searches were conducted and it was determined no one was home. Mutual aid was provided by
Brookhaven Fd and Ridge FD was also called to stand by at Mastic Beach’s headquarters. The
Mastic Beach Ambulance was on scene in case of any injuries or need for firefighter rehab . no injuries
were reported. The scene was turned over to the Brookhaven Fire Marshal Office and all firefighters
were back in service withen about an hours time.
