May 8, 2020 – Braddock, Allegheny County - At 1:26am, firefighters were dispatched to the 400 block of 4th Street in the Borough of Braddock for a report of a fire in the hallway of a home. Police were the first to arrive on-scene and confirmed a working fire and advised units there was possible entrapment on the second floor of the home. Shortly after that, police advised units they were able to get the resident out of the home. As fire crews arrived, heavy smoke was pouring out of the home. The fire quickly spread from the first floor to the second floor as crews began to attack the fire. A second alarm was quickly requested as firefighters continued to battle fire for over an hour before bringing it under control at 2:49am. No one was injured but 3 adults were displaced. A resident smoking on oxygen was determined to cause the fire.
