West Greenwich, RI - Firefighters from West Greenwich Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 responded alongside mutual aid departments to a reported brush fire on Hopkins Hill Road, navigating difficult terrain to bring the incident under control.
Units including Chiefs 201, 202, and 203, Engine-22, Tanker-23, Service-2, and Unit-24 operated with crews from Lake Mishnock and Hianloland.
Upon arrival, Tanker-23 laid approximately 700 feet of 5-inch supply line down a narrow dirt road to establish a reliable water source.
Firefighters deployed multiple forestry hose lines and worked strategically to surround the fire, successfully containing its spread.
A total of 16 volunteers operated on scene for several hours before returning to quarters on Nooseneck Hill, marking a coordinated and effective response to the rural brush fire.
