Car Crashes Into Norwalk Apartment Building, Displacing Four Residents

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a passenger car and an occupied multi-residential building at 2 North Taylor Avenue just after 3:00 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 6, 2026. A total of 16 firefighters responded to the incident with an engine, ladder, rescue, and command staff.


Upon arrival, firefighters found that the vehicle had left the roadway, traveled over a stone wall, and struck the building. A teenage occupant was in the impacted bedroom and narrowly escaped injury. The driver was treated and transported to Norwalk Hospital with a minor injury.


One apartment was posted unfit for occupancy by the Building Department, displacing four residents who were assisted by the American Red Cross.
