Mystery Surrounds Garage Fire Extinguished Before Firefighters Arrive

Richmond, RI - Firefighters from the Richmond-Carolina Fire District responded to a reported garage fire in the Kenyon Hill Trail neighborhood, where the blaze was believed to have already been extinguished prior to crews arriving on scene.


Upon arrival, firefighters encountered visible smoke conditions and discovered moderate damage to the rear interior section of the garage caused by intense heat and smoke.


Crews quickly secured the area and checked for any remaining fire extension.


The cause of the fire, along with the circumstances that may have contributed to the fire being extinguished before responders arrived, remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.


Responding apparatus included Engine 611, Tanker 615, and Tanker 625. Officials also reminded residents to regularly test smoke detectors and ensure they are functioning properly.
