Effingham, NH - Effingham Fire/Rescue, along with Action Ambulance and multiple mutual aid departments, responded to a reported structure fire at a residence on Elm Street.

Upon arrival, command units found a single-story home with smoke showing from the front door. All occupants had safely evacuated prior to crews’ arrival and were being evaluated by EMS for smoke inhalation.

Additional medical resources were requested to support patient care.

Engine companies made entry and located a small, smoldering fire in a bedroom.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and ventilated the structure, preventing any extension to other areas of the home.

A first alarm assignment brought in mutual aid resources from surrounding communities, though many units were released shortly after the fire was brought under control.

Three occupants were treated on scene and did not require transport. The fire was determined to be accidental in nature, and crews cleared after completing overhaul and ensuring the residence was safe.
