Adamsburg, PA — April 14th — The Westmoreland City Fire Department received assistance from the Adamsburg Volunteer Fire Department over a reported smoke odor in a business building. Under the county mutual aid system, a utility unit, engine, and quint responded. Crews checked mechanical systems and interior spaces as part of a methodical inquiry. No active fire conditions were discovered, and the source was identified as a malfunctioning HVAC unit.


Firefighters helped with ventilation as needed and verified that there was no hidden fire or heat extension. The building was judged safe for habitation after the event was swiftly contained.
