Aerial Master Stream Used to Control Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On April 18, at around 2:11 p.m., the Clearfield Fire Department arrived to help Company 6 with a reported building fire that had spread into a garage fire with explosions and then into a brush fire.

Several 911 calls shortly after dispatch verified that there was an active fire. After obtaining the garage fire's address, Squad 1 started using Engine-Tanker 6 to put it out. To contain the quickly developing brush fire, Quint 1 and Engine 5 positioned themselves above the fire and used handlines.

When there were enough resources available, personnel activated an aerial device to help with suppression by running a master stream.

After operations were finished, all of the fire was put out, and units started to clear the area.
