Cat Safely Rescued from Tree by Pittsfield Firefighters

PITTSFIELD, MA - On April 28th, the Pittsfield Fire Department responded to a reported animal rescue on Francis Avenue, where a cat was found stranded high in a tree. Upon arrival, crews located the feline approximately 30-feet above the ground, with witnesses reporting it had been stuck there for several days. Engine 3 personnel deployed a ground ladder to access the animal. Probationary Firefighter Carolina Jones climbed to the cat and safely brought it down to awaiting Animal Control officers. Despite signs of possible malnourishment, the cat is expected to make a full recovery, thanks to the coordinated efforts of firefighters and local authorities.
