Multi-Agency Response to Crash Causes Lane Closure on Middlesex Turnpike

Old Saybrook, CT - The Old Saybrook Fire Department and police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Middlesex Turnpike and Bokum Road, bringing a coordinated emergency response to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews quickly assessed the situation, secured the area, and began assisting those involved in the crash.
Due to the nature of the incident, additional EMS resources were requested. Ambulances from Essex and Old Lyme responded and transported patients to a local medical facility for further evaluation and care.
As emergency operations continued, Middlesex Turnpike was reduced to a single lane for over 30 minutes, allowing responders to safely manage the scene, treat patients, and remove damaged vehicles and debris.
Traffic flow was restored once all hazards were cleared and the roadway was deemed safe for travel.
