LUNENBURG, MA — April 8th — In the vicinity of 711 Page Street, crews from Lunenburg Fire Rescue, located at 655 Massachusetts Ave., responded to a brush fire alongside mutual assistance colleagues. When units arrived, they discovered an active fire spreading over more than an acre. To control the fire and slow its spread, firefighters used brush trucks, hose lines, and hand tools. While tackling hot areas within the burn area, crews worked the perimeter.

In order to support ongoing operations, water supply and access were managed. This kind of brush fire is frequently caused by wind and dry fuels, necessitating coordinated actions from several organizations. Safe wildland fire operations are supported by National Fire Protection Association guidelines. On the scene, crews continued to strive for complete containment.
