Over the course of 48 hours, the Hill Fire Department responded to two major events and several medical calls.
On April 28, just before five in the morning, workers and the Bristol Fire Department ambulance arrived after a single-vehicle collision on NH Route 3A. The car veered off the road, collided with a tree, and landed on a stone wall. It also brought down another tree that was obstructing a portion of the road. The motorist was taken to the hospital after suffering minor injuries.
After responding to a brush fire off King Road just after 4:00 p.m. on April 29, crews discovered a fire in a rural area that was roughly one acre in size. While a first alarm assignment was requested, Engine 2 deployed handlines for an initial stop. Suppression, overhaul, and mop-up were aided by mutual aid from Franklin, Bristol, New Hampton, Tilton-Northfield, NH Forest & Lands, and station coverage from Andover.
Around 6:30 p.m., crews left, and later that evening, they put the equipment back into service.
