Canterbury Crews Contain Remote Brush Fire

Around 12:00 p.m., the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department, Central Village Fire Department, and Canterbury Volunteer Fire Company Inc. responded to a reported working brush fire near 213 Brooklyn Road. reported that the fire was roughly 100 by 100 feet and situated about a quarter mile into a wooded area.


The Plainfield Fire Department was called in to provide more UTVs and personnel because to the remote location.


Homeowners helped control the fire by providing forestry equipment and setting up a fire line before the crews arrived. Firefighters put out the remaining hot spots and put out the main body of fire.
