On April 9, 2022 at 3:58 PM, the Shaker Road Fire Department along with mutual aid from the Latham Fire Department and Boght Community Fire Company for the FAST Team was dispatch for a possible structure fire at 564 Loudon Road. The caller was a passerby reporting smoke coming from the building and a heavy burning smell.

The first arriving chief on scene had nothing showing from the road way. As the chief conducted his walk around of the scene, the chief found he had a working chimney fire in the rear of the building. Rescue nine took the driveway and Truck nine remained in the roadway due to the small driveway and firefighters deployed a ladder to the rear of the building. Firefighters made their way inside of the building and took all of the materials out of the fireplace that were burning and extinguished them.

Boght Community Fire Company arrived on scene and deployed their fast team to the yard. Members of the Latham Fire Department arrived on scene and assisted firefighters inside of the building and on the roof. Firefighters deployed a chain down the chimney to break up the creosol build up and knock the burning materials back down into the fire box. Firefighters were able to bring the incident under control quickly. No injuries were reported. After the fire was extinguished firefighters went back into service.
