Gardner, MA — April 3rd — A two-alarm house fire at 10 Mill Glen Road in Winchendon prompted the Gardner Fire Department, located at 70 City Hall Ave., Gardner, MA, USA, 01440, to respond on a Group 1 recall. Combination 4, 11C, and 11C1 were among the units designated to assist with fireground operations. Three-person Winchendon firefighters were the first to arrive. They quickly knocked down the fire and managed to confine it, preventing it from spreading further within the building.
The crew that was on duty, Gardner Group 4, helped with overhaul, suppression assistance, and scene operations maintenance. In order to maintain operations, two-alarm assignments require more personnel and equipment. In order to guarantee sufficient resources at such incidents, mutual aid continues to be a crucial component of regional response.
