BROOKLYN, NY - On May 1st, a massive five-alarm fire erupted in Bushwick, at the intersection of Bushwick Avenue and Cooper Street, causing significant damage to multiple buildings and sending plumes of smoke into the air. The fire, which originated in a commercial building, quickly spread to nearby structures, prompting a swift response from the FDNY. Residents were advised to avoid smoke and close windows due to traffic delays and the strong smell of smoke reported from as far as 1.5-miles away. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
