LOWHILL TWP., PA - On April 14th at approximately 3:00 A.M., companies were dispatched to a working house fire at 3334 Rt. 100 in northern Lehigh County.

The senior occupants reported that they had heard what sounded like an explosion, and then another one coming from their garage area. That's where there was a car, a four wheeler and fuel containers. They called 911 and were told to evacuate the building. It's unknown if any of their cats survived the fire.

A garage, house with a beauty salon, and brush, were all on fire at one time with a light wind condition. The brush fire was contained in about 45 minutes. Firefighters also had downed wires to contend with. The building fires went on for several hours as water had to be brought in by tankers. Some 17 companies responded to the alarm. There were no known injuries.
