Durham, ME - Firefighters battled a rapidly spreading brush fire off Brown Road after a permitted burn escaped control, ultimately consuming about 1.5 acres.
First arriving units found roughly half an acre already burning and spreading quickly, prompting an all-hands response that brought in all available personnel along with mutual aid.
Crews deployed brush trucks, UTVs, tankers, and an engine to attack the fire from multiple sides and establish water supply in the rural area.
With coordinated efforts and support from the Maine Forest Rangers and surrounding departments, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control before it could spread further.
