Falmouth, MA - Firefighters contained a garage fire that began extending into a single-family home on Club Valley Drive, preventing further damage to the residence.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire in the attached garage pushing to the exterior and into the home.
A rapid initial attack brought the garage fire under control, allowing incoming units to focus on the interior and attic spaces.
During a search, a guinea pig was safely rescued from the second floor. Extensive overhaul was completed in the garage and attic areas, including around a wooden chimney.
No injuries were reported, but the home was left uninhabitable due to smoke damage. The cause remains under investigation.
