(Colonie, NY)-- Firefighters made quick work of a fire Easter Sunday at the Valley View Apartments in Latham. Multiple calls reported a heavy smoke condition April 12th at Building 27 Apartment 23. The first officer on the scene confirmed the smoke condition and declared a signal 30. The fire was located in the front part of the first floor, near the apartment's heating unit. They identified the apartment as being vacant and used for storage. Crews stretched a one and ¾ inch line and quickly knocked down the fire. Firefighters conducted extensive overhaul but damage was kept to a minimum. No injuries were reported. A cause of the fire remains under investigation.
