Allegheny, PA - Allegheny Valley Volunteer Fire Company units responded with a full first alarm assignment to a residence on Pillow Avenue in Cheswick Borough for a reported odor of something burning.
Engine 315 and police units arrived to find a smoke condition inside the home caused by burnt food in a microwave.
The assignment was scaled back to the first-due engine, which handled ventilation to clear the structure.
After confirming the residence was safe, crews returned to service. Mutual aid companies were acknowledged for their rapid response and readiness to assist.
