Boston, MA — April 5th — Massport Engine 2 responded to a working fire in the City of Revere under mutual aid, according to IAFF Local S-2, 162 Harborside Drive. Units operating under the Massachusetts Port Authority are integrated into the regional response system, allowing airport-based companies to assist surrounding communities.
In order to assist with suppression efforts and work with local command, Engine 2 arrived. The response is in line with mutual aid agreements that guarantee the availability of extra personnel and equipment during work-related incidents. Coordinated deployments like this help preserve operational readiness and uniform fireground support among departments in the area, according to the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts.
