Quick Knock Down at Saddle Brook House Fire

SADDLE BROOK, NJ - A house fire was extinguished in Saddle Brook in the late afternoon of April 26th. Companies were dispatched shortly before 4:00 P.M. to 591 Elm Ave. on a reported structure fire. Upon arrival of companies the fire was located in the basement of the two-and-a-half story, wood-frame home. Engine 1 arrived first due and stretched lines and had it knocked down in well under 20 minutes. A dog was rescued from the home by firefighters and two people also were reportedly treated for smoke inhalation. Mutual aid from Elmwood Park, Rochelle Park and Wallington assisted on scene while Fair Lawn and Garfield stood by. The Saddle Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps also stood by on scene.
