WALTHAM, MA - Around 6:00 P.M. April 25th, a man fishing on the Charles River in Waltham spotted a car under the water on his fish finder.
The Mass. State Police who oversee the Charles River were notified, as well as Waltham Fire. Engine 1 was dispatched as an MSP dive team tried to find the vehicle. Once found, Rescue 1 and Squad 5 were requested to assist with the recovery and lighting.
It took several attempts by tow truck crews to drag the vehicle from the river, including using Rescue 1’s winching equipment. Units were on scene for several hours. There was no one in the vehicle.
