ADAMS, NY — April 18th — Adams Center and Lorraine Fire were put on automatic mutual aid when the Adams Fire Department responded to a reported fire alarm activation at 5 East Church Street in the Village of Adams. Engine 1-4-1, Truck 1-8-1, and Chiefs 1-0-2 and 1-0-3 reacted. When units arrived, they thoroughly examined the building, inspecting internal spaces and alarm panels to determine the source of activation.
There were no hazardous situations or fires. Before putting the alarm system back into operation, crews secured and reset it. In order to verify conditions and ensure tenant safety, alarm activations necessitate a coordinated reaction. Assignments of mutual aid provide uniform coverage throughout the district. After conducting inspections, units cleaned the area and resumed operations.
