Mutual Aid Units Operate at Valley Stream Fire

Lawrence, NY — April 5th — In response to a building fire in Valley Stream, the FAST unit of the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, located at 75 Washington Ave. After arriving, Ladder 3252 was tasked with roof operations, supporting ventilation and keeping an eye on inside crew conditions. Firefighter safety is the responsibility of FAST teams, which are prepared to act quickly and provide assistance as needed. Capone was in charge of the operations.
Before going back into service, units worked on the scene for around ninety minutes. Coordination with the Valley Stream Fire Department and other mutual help organizations was necessary due to the occurrence. According to officials, interagency collaboration and FAST training are still essential for safe and efficient fireground operations.
