Lawrence, NY — March 30th — Two mutual assistance assignments in nearby districts were managed by the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, located at 75 Washington Ave. Under Capone's leadership, Ladder 3252 responded to a basement fire in Valley Stream on March 30 and helped with primary searches. Businesses ran for a little less than an hour.

The department helped the Hewlett Fire Department respond to a working home fire in the Saddle Ridge area. As the first-due truck, Ladder 3252 assisted Engine 305 with searches and fire attacks. Crews worked under Assistant Chief Legrow for more than two hours before returning to service after all searches came out negative.
