Riverhead Crews Handle MVA with Fuel Spill

RIVERHEAD, NY — March 29th — At around 4:00 p.m., the Riverhead Fire Department responded to a car collision involving a fuel spill at the intersection of Reeves Avenue and Roanoke Avenue. In order to contain and manage leaking fluids, workers secured the concerned vehicles upon arrival and applied absorbent material.


In order to ensure a safe working environment, firefighters also helped with traffic closures in collaboration with Riverhead Police.


The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived to assess the situation and provide any necessary medical care. Fuel leak incidents necessitate prompt action to minimize risks and avoid negative effects on the environment.
