ELMONT, NY - A house fire at 1393 E Street was reported to the Elmont Fire Department on March 30th.

First due units reported observable fire conditions and requested a working fire transmitted. The fire was discovered by crews on a private home's first-floor rear setback.

Crews stretched a hand line and began an internal attack while other firefighters evaluated the structure for extensions and helped with ventilation. Suppression efforts continued while primary searches were finished.

The fire was brought under control in a short time, and no serious injuries were reported.
