Mutual Aid Crews Operate at Nassau Structure Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

BETHPAGE, NY — March 22nd — When a house fire was reported, the South Farmingdale Fire District received mutual aid from the Bethpage Fire Department. Engine 5 and Assistant Chief Fitzwilliam were sent to the scene to assist with fireground operations. When crews arrived, they worked under the established command structure, supporting mutual aid departments in overhaul and suppression. In order to guarantee sufficient personnel and resources at working fires, interagency response is still a common procedure throughout Nassau County.

Firefighters worked to secure the building and check for fire extension. Neither residents nor responders reported any injuries. Bethpage units were taken off the scene and put back into duty after finishing their assignments.
