GREENLAWN, NY - On March 29th just before 2:45 a.m., volunteers from the Greenlawn Fire Department responded to several reports of a residential structure fire. Dept. Chief Joseph Pace, along with 1st Assistant Chief Richard Jones, and 2nd Assistant Chief Matthew Paulsen established command.

On arrival, firefighters discovered a single-story private home with a large fire in the attached garage that was extending inside the house itself. A working fire was transmitted and mutual aid was requested to respond.

While first searches were being carried out, Rescue Quint 2-7-2 arrived and extended an initial hand line to the garage. To assist with internal operations, Engine 2-7-7 established a second hand line and acquired a water supply.

Mutual aid was provided by Halesite, Centerport, Huntington, Huntington Manor, and Northport Fire Departments. Crews operated for approximately two hours before returning to service. No injuries were reported.
