Saxton, PA — March 29th — In response to a residential fire in the 17-7 box, the Saxton Volunteer Fire Company helped Huntingdon County Company 17. The first alarm assignment involved the operation of Truck, Engine, and Tanker 35. Command 17 instructed Truck 35 to set up at the address and finish vertical ventilation. Together with mutual aid organizations, Engine 35 firefighters assisted with both external and interior fire attack operations. Tanker 35 was staged and not required for water supply because hydrants were accessible.
Without the need for tanker shuttle operations, responses in hydrated areas frequently enable prolonged fire attacks. Blair Rescue 60 moved to Station 35 to continue providing local coverage while crews worked. Units returned to service after finishing their tasks, and the fire was contained without any reported injuries.
