Two teenage females charged with setting McKeesport house fire

March 16, 2020 – City of McKeesport, Allegheny County – At 6:48pm, crews were dispatched to a reported house on fire in the area of Easler Street and Main Street. Police advised units there was heavy smoke in the area. Crews arrived to find a fully involved abandoned house and a second alarm was requested as a defensive attack was set up. Firefighters continued a defensive attack for over an hour before the fire was brought under control. Police and fire investigators immediately started to investigate. Authorities quickly identified and located both juveniles who confessed to starting the fire along with three other house fires that occurred in the area recently. According to authorities, the girls had kept a notebook with the addresses of abandoned houses they wanted to burn down which included this home along with several other homes that had burned going back to the beginning of March. Both have been charged with four counts of arson and four counts of risking a catastrophe in the juvenile court system.
