FANWOOD, NJ - A car crash damaging a utility pole prompted the Fanwood Fire Department to respond to North Avenue, March 27th. The local Rescue Squad and the Fanwood Police Department worked with Engine 7 and Ladder 1. Crews that arrived first secured the area and evaluated any electrical threats, as well as the damaged pole. In addition to helping EMS staff with patient care, firefighters secured the vehicle. Utility firms were asked to fix the affected infrastructure and make sure the area was secure.
