Crews Extricate Patient from Tractor-Trailer Accident

The Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company was called to the Pennsylvania Turnpike on March 27th in response to a reported multiple tractor-trailer collision with entrapment.


When crews arrived, they discovered a complicated situation involving large trucks. They worked to secure the area and remove the patient. In order to remove the individual safely, firefighters coordinated access and stabilization efforts.


Friedens Fire Company, the Diamond Fire Company of Walnutport, the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company, and the East Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department all provided mutual aid. Palmerton Ambulance and the Lehighton Ambulance Association supplied EMS assistance, and All Points Towing handled the towing.
