(NYC) April 18, 2026, shortly after midnight Queens companies were dispatched to a occupied multiple dwelling at 57-29 Catalpa Avenue in the Ridgewood section. Arriving units found heavy smoke pushing from the 2nd floor. A quick response by the FDNY limited the danger and prevented spread to any of the exposures. At least 4 civilian suffered minor injures and Firefighters rescued several pets. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the FDNY Bureau of Fire Investigation .
